****** ST LOUIS REGION SOLO TECH STUFF PLEASE READ IF ATTENDING EVENT 5-17 ****
Please help spread the word – because of C19, there will be some new tech inspection procedures for all solo events (until further notice)
If you have an annual tech already, you are good and can ignore this. If you are eligible for an annual tech, or think you are (basically have some events under your belt) please contact me directly and we will see if we can make an appointment for you to stop by @SPS and I can do the annual.
-2020 Tech will be at the SPS trailer. Look for the giant white trailer and orange awning and tech signs. -Please present your car to tech ready to race. Cleaned out, numbers on, etc. -If you don’t have numbers, SPS sells magnetic and reusable vinyl numbers sets – 2-3 digit Car number and class for both sides of the car are $27.95 plus tax and available in block font, white or black color only. SPS also sells vinyl tape in several colors that can be used to make number.
The club (not SPS) may have blue tape available at the registration trailer.
-Please remain in your car in line. Remember to keep social distancing. -Please have your helmet ready and hood and trunk open when you reach the front of the line. Turn car off.
-The tech worker will instruct you to firmly shake your wheels, your battery, and operate your throttle and brake pedals. -The tech worker may instruct you to check other items under their supervision.
-If your helmet does not already have a 2020 SCCA National tech sticker, or STLSOLO 2020, please peel back the padding and present the helmet to the tech worker so they can see the snell sticker. Assuming it passes, they will give you a helmet tech sticker to apply to the left side of the helmet. This sticker is good for all year.
-Remember, please respect social distancing at all times during the procedure.
Once again, if you have autocrossed more than a few times, please PM me to see if you are eligible for annual tech and maybe we can knock it out before the event at SPS. There is no charge for this, but please don’t just stop by as we are short staffed and working staggered shifts.
Thanks, Dave Whitworth 2020 STLSOLO Tech Chief
